Dear all

As part of my AMA, I’m looking at improving my work with BME community groups.  I’m especially interested in the issue of sustaining relationships with groups after the initial project/contact has finished.

I know that ‘using and then dropping’ any community group is something that we all worry about doing and obviously try hard not to do, but I know from personal experience that trying to sustain contacts after the immediate project is over is quite difficult, in the face of funding issues, changes in staff, etc.

Does anyone have experience, or knows of, any examples of good practice in this area?  Or has anyone got any advice, lessons learnt (both positive and/or negative), or just simply observations, that they would share with me? Depending on the feedback I get, I may want to discuss over email, or possibly come and see you to chat about it further!

Any suggestions very gratefully received…
