A cyclotron operator is required to operate a GE PET trace cyclotron
Located on beautiful Long Island 18 miles east of Manhattan, our facility belongs to one
of the largest health-care providers in New York metropolitan area. We are making a
number of radiotracers in a thriving PET imaging center conducting clinical and research
studies in neurology, oncology and cardiology. Our synthesis effort is supporting clinical
research programs that are recognized internationally in the study of disease mechanism
and treatment efficacy of patients with neurological and psychiatric disorders.
A college graduate with a BS or qualified personnel from technical school is desired.
College graduates with physics, electronic and engineering background may apply for this
position. Graduates from technical school will be also considered. This position is for an
assistant cyclotron engineer to operate the cyclotron. Qualified candidates must be willing
to work with radiation. Previous experience with cyclotron is desirable but not a must.
Selected candidate will be trained to operate the cyclotron at our site by the cyclotron
engineer. Salary is competitive with generous health and fringe benefits offered by the
hospital system.
