SENSE MEMORY

He remembers taking
off his hat
and if he reaches
he’ll remembers
leaving the shade of the

path with blue
flowers on either
side and perhaps
remembers her naked
folded in

amid the daisies

but then the sun
grows too bright and blinds him
the murmur
of bees and wind and

rushing water
drown out what she told him
as she leaned
over him and was
silhouetted

without definition
all he can
be sure of later
her scent was soft
it fell all over him
