What sort of a bird is your favourite philosopher? 

Reminds me of a story by Sheena Blackhall, 'The collogue of the burdies'
(it's in Doric, i.e. Aberdonian Scots). To cut a short story short, Magnus
the Magpie is bard ower aa the winged fowk o the air. But tak tent, o
humankind, niver tae leave onythin braw or bonnie aboot his airt, or Magnus
will nip it awa, taw wyve it inno his neist poem! (it's in Chapman 80.)
