Salary
Pro-Rata of £35,913 - £42,469 pa inc LW for a 0.6-0.8 fte appointment
The
Administrative Secretary works with the Institute Director to ensure the
appropriate administration and financial administration of the Institute and
assists in the promotion and development of its research and teaching work.
In
addition to drafting strategic plans, annual reports and academic programmes,
the duties include risk and records management; inter-departmental liaison on
quality assurance, human resource and other similar matters; management of
accounts; maintaining and enhancing the website; servicing committees;
arrangements for conferences, seminars, workshops, colloquia, lectures,
readings and recitals; and assisting in the setup and operation of a research
training programme.
The role
requires a responsible and motivated individual with a flexible approach and
relevant experience in Higher Education administration supported by high
standards of IT skills, preferably including web-authoring skills. It is
essential that you have demonstrable ability to prepare budgets and oversee
accounts and that you possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and
communication skills. A first
and/or further degree in French/Portuguese/Spanish and/or working knowledge of
one of those languages would be advantageous. (German and Italian is covered
by existing administrative staff.)
