Subject: BBC Request for help

I am developing a six part landmark BBC televsion series looking at the long
term and recent effects of artificial chemicals (all things toxic!) on a
global scale to our environment, animals and humans. It will be the
ultimate global health check and an update on where we stand now - in the 45
years since Rachel Carson wrote her influential and controversial book
Silent Spring. Using similar headings as Carson for her book - we will be
following the subject headings below in the series.

Planet
Oceans (and Rivers)
Humans
Insects, Soils and Funghi
Animals, Birds & Fish
Our Green Mantle (trees, plants etc)

I would be very grateful for any information and/or expert contacts I can
speak with concerning the fall out of artificial chemicals globally within
your field of espertise. I am keen to get a clear and informed idea of how
we have progressed in the past four decades and what present day
international examples there might be which we could illustrate in a TV
programme in the future. It would be good to hear from a key organisation
like yourself on how we are fairing - for better or worse. Also are there
new and positive examples/projects where previously known situations (where
chemicals/toxins have been a problem to the environment, animals and/or us)
which is being or has since been remedied by positive action or new and
advanced methods? The bigger and more global the projects - the better!

I have looked through quite a few of the WWF sites including the toxic
campaign - which have been a great help - but it would be good to talk to
individuals .

I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Karen
