Hi,

I can let you have a distribution map showing the Anglo-Scandinavian 
place-names around the R Tees. This demonstrates two things, the 
juxtaposition of Thorp & by names and the frequency of these names south 
of the river compared to north of the river.

We have not done or know of any fieldwork which would throw light on their 
character.
