 The Career Development Group - London and South East Divisions invites
 you to join us for a visit to the University of Reading Special
 Collections Service
 
The Special Collections Service gives access to the University of
 Reading Library's special collections of rare books, manuscripts, archives
 and other materials. Two of these are recognised as being of national
 and international significance, holding Designated status by the MLA
 (Museums, Libraries and Archives Council) ­- the Beckett Collection and
 Records of British publishing and printing. The service is run jointly by
 the University of Reading Library and the Museum of English Rural Life
 (MERL), itself a Designated collection. For more details about the

Reading Station has extensive rail links, eg London Paddington in 25
 minutes and Oxford in 35 minutes. Buses to the London Road Campus
 (adjacent to MERL, where the Special Collections Service is located) are
 available from Reading Station. Alternatively, it is about a 25 minute walk
 from Reading Station to the Special Collections Service. Car parking
 facilities are available for people wishing to drive. For more detailed

The visit is ideal for those preparing for Chartership, Revalidation or
 Certification, as well as anyone who is interested in the facilities
