Hi *, has anybody tried to install the gLite UI on a RHEL4/64bit System? I have found some problems doing so: * full 32bit compatibility environment installed * installed glite-UI using these repos: http://glitesoft.cern.ch/EGEE/gLite/R3.1/generic/sl4/i386 http://linuxsoft.cern.ch/LCG-CAs/current/ jpackage 1.7 Working with the edg-* group of commands works fine (like edg-job-submit [only with option --old], edg-job-status, edg-job-get-output). But voms-proxy-init fails. I get the following output and then the command hangs forever: ==================================================================== -bash-3.00$ voms-proxy-init --debug --voms atlas Detected Globus version: 22 Unspecified proxy version, settling on Globus version: 2 Number of bits in key :512 Using configuration file /common/home/meder/.glite/vomses Using configuration file /opt/glite/etc/vomses Files being used: CA certificate file: none Trusted certificates directory : /etc/grid-security/certificates Proxy certificate file : /tmp/x509up_u50025 User certificate file: /common/home/meder/.globus/usercert.pem User key file: /common/home/meder/.globus/userkey.pem Output to /tmp/x509up_u50025 Enter GRID pass phrase: Your identity: /O=GermanGrid/OU=UniWuppertal/CN=David Meder-Marouelli Using configuration file /common/home/meder/.glite/vomses Cannot find file or dir: /common/home/meder/.glite/vomses Using configuration file /opt/glite/etc/vomses Creating temporary proxy to /tmp/tmp_x509up_u50025_18879 .....++++++++++++ .........++++++++++++ Done Contacting voms.cern.ch:15001 [/DC=ch/DC=cern/OU=computers/CN=voms.cern.ch] "atlas" ==================================================================== I suspect that something with the communication with the VOMS server goes wrong, possibly openssl? With "tcpdump host voms.cern.ch" I find that on a working glite-UI (gLite 3.0, SLC 3) there is a total of 51 TCP/IP packets being exchanged while obtaining a voms-proxy. On the 64bit system I observe only 34 TCP/IP packets being exchanged. Does anybody have an idea what might go wrong? Thanks for any help, David -- Ever tried? Ever failed? No matter. Try Again! Fail again! Fail better!
