PRESS RELEASE FROM THE MOVEMENT FOR AFRICAN REFUGEES IN NIGERIA (MAREN)        

Re: The 4th DINBMA 2007 Award to Dr. (Mrs.) Shambhavi Vedantam Murthy
Gopalkrishna

Our Founder, Dr. (Mrs.) Shambhavi Vedantam Murthy Gopalkrishna was Awarded the
4th Distinguished African Nation-Builder Merit Award 2007 (DINBMA 2007) for her
contributions and work with the refugees in Nigeria. Dr. Shambhavi Gopalkrishna
is the first Non-African/Asian to receive this Award. The Award ceremony took
place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on Saturday, 25th August 2007
evening. 

For her work with the African Refugees in Nigeria, Dr. Gopalkrishna was
recognised as Indian of the Year 2005-2006 in October 2006 by UBHAS Nigeria and
as Millennium Woman 2006.
