'Towards a Business Case' Launch Event for the Embedding Widening Participation & Promoting Student Diversity research report.

11 October 2007

The Royal National Hotel, Bedford WayLondon WC1

Description

This event sees the official launch of the findings of an important new study into the successful embedding of widening participation. It will provide an opportunity for participants to engage with the emerging issues and to trial workshop materials to support the embedding of diversity and widening participation within institutions.

The Academy-commissioned research combines a literature review with in-depth case studies of institutions, exploring the enablers and challenges for HEIs seeking to adopt an embedded approach to diversity and widening participation. Through identifying the associated benefits and costs for different stakeholders within institutions the research examines the principles of a business case model for the sector.

This event will be particularly useful for all staff with an active widening participation or diversity brief, particularly those engaged in

§               developing policy and practice at an institutional level

§               enhancing and managing the HE student experience

§               researching the HE student experience

§               implementing diversity and widening participation policies within institutions
