Hello All,

Although applications are coming in I wanted to let you know that it's still possible to register for our Second International Advanced Course called Public Communication & Applied Ethics of Nanotechnology we are organising on 23 28 September 2007 at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford, UK.

This is an intensive training course for all those who are working in nanotechnology with an interest of its public communication and ethical implications.

The course consists of an alternating programme of expert lectures, case studies, media training, role play, group discussions and debate.

Course participants will acquire:
• knowledge of the relevant ethical, legal and social aspects of nanotechnology
• skills to communicate effectively with the media and the public
• understanding of issues involved in the public acceptance of nanotechnology

This course is organised by Nanobio-RAISE, a European Co-ordination Action bringing together nano(bio)technologists, ethicists and communication specialists with the aim of anticipating the societal and ethical issues likely to arise as nanotechnology develops. For further information look at our website
www.nanobio-raise.org or send me an email ([log in to unmask]). A grant for the registration fee may be available if needed.

Feel free to distribute this message widely!

With best regards, Susanne Sleenhoff
