Post-doctoral position in theoretical and
computational chemistry:
Department of Chemistry,
Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana.
One postdoctoral position in theoretical and computational chemistry is
available starting Fall of 2007, in the group of Prof. Srinivasan S.
Iyengar at the department of chemistry, Indiana University,
Bloomington, Indiana. The position will involve:
- The study of proton, hydrogen and hydride tunneling in biological
enzymes: The project will involve further development and application
of our quantum
wavepacket ab initio molecular dynamics methodology (see, for example,
Iyengar and
Jakowski, JCP, 122, 114105 (2005)) and it applications towards
studying nuclear quantum effects in enzyme problems.
Applicants must possess a strong background in theoretical method
development. Those with a proven track record on good computer
programming skills, quantum dynamics methods, electronic structure
methods and/or experience with biological systems will be in an
advantageous situation with respect to this position.
The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, renewable
upon mutual consent. Those
who wish to be considered should send a CV through email to Prof.
Srinivasan S. Iyengar, iyengar AT indiana.edu) and have
three letters of recommendation
sent directly via email.
