Hi Tania,

The course of the twentieth century. Hope you can make it international some
time- there are some nice clues to get from comparison.

Hi Ans,
Well I am hoping to set up a list relating specifically to the history
of midwifery, and would hope to make that international-I have been in
touch with peoplw working on maternity in new zealand and india. What
kind of period did your research cover?
Best wishes
Tania

Hi Tania,

very interesting.
If your interest would go beyond the UK; I did some things on the
history of midwifery in regard to antenatal care, but for three European
countries ( Netherlands, Switzerland and UK).

best wishes,

Hello,
I have just joined this list.

I am a newly appointed midwife lecturer, and also an academic historian,
who had a previous 'life' working on the history of maternity in
Sheffield. I am hoping to carry out research into the history of
midwifery and maternity in twentieth century England, based particularly
around the contruction of midwifery knowledge, and possibly also around
the place of birth.

Is there anyone out there with an interest in the history of
midwifery/maternity?!
