Apologies for any cross-postings

Deadline for submission for the following special session is September 15, 2007.

Special Session: The Medieval Romance and the Human Senses

The purpose of this panel is to explore the uses of the senses (sight, smell, taste, hearing, touch) in medieval romances. Any approach is welcome that can help to illuminate perspectives on social or religious practices/norms, ambiguities, anxieties, and so on. Papers can focus on either one particular human sense or provide a broader perspective on the uses, or perhaps abuses, of the human senses in the medieval romance.
