Discusses RSS, weblogs, instant messaging, podcasting, start pages, social bookmarking, Flickr, custom search engines, creating communities with wikis and portals (and more!). Final session for questions and discussion. This seminar is being repeated for the third time to meet requests from librarians who have not been able to find a place in the earlier seminars. Seminar Two: 13.45 - 16.30 (registration 13.30) Copyright - what you need to know Facilitated and presented by Graham Cornish (Copyright Circle Consultant) Chaired by Stephanie Kenna (Manager, Regional and Library Programmes, BL) Covers the fundamentals of copyright - principles and practice - concentrating on the digital environment but also including print. The approach will be by presentations but also offer real life problems and scenarios faced by the librarian in day-to-day work. There will be ample time for questions and answers. Most of the afternoon will be spent on the implementation of the existing law, but the final session will look at changes to be expected as a result of Gowers.
