The Archaeology Data Service / Internet Archaeology IFA Workplace Learning
Bursary, Department of Archaeology IFA Workplace Learning Bursary for
Archaeological Skills Development (Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund) 

We have a vacancy for a six-month training placement to learn basic skills
in the archaeological applications of information and communication
technology (ICT).

This position would be suitable for someone who is at an early stage of
their archaeological career, either as a graduate or an archaeologist
working in the commercial or public sector (from which secondments will be
considered), or for an established archaeologist who wishes to develop new
skills. An interest in, and aptitude for, computer and web applications are
essential, and it is expected that the post-holder will wish to pursue a
career in this field.

The placement will be hosted by the Archaeology Data Service and Internet
Archaeology at the Department of Archaeology, University of York. The
post-holder will work as a member of the ADS curatorial team but will be
able to participate in university postgraduate level courses. There may also
be an opportunity to use the experience gained in this placement towards a
vocational qualification in archaeological practice. The University of York
