Prio Researcher Position (PhD scholarship)

The International Peace Research Institute, Oslo (PRIO) invites
applications for a three-year, full-time researcher position as a PhD
candidate. PRIO was one of the first centres of peace research in the
world when it was founded in 1959. Today it is an independent
multi-disciplinary research institute with approximately 70 employees.
PRIO hosts the Centre for the Study of Civil War (CSCW), Norway's only
Centre of Excellence in the social sciences. Two international
peer-reviewed journals are edited at PRIO (Journal of Peace Research and

The academic discipline of the PhD scholarship is open, but the proposed
project must fit PRIO's current research profile. Applicants must hold a
Master's Degree or equivalent and must write the doctoral thesis in
English. The PhD candidate should be able to carry out the project based
