I don't like the idea of a photo for 2 reasons: it identifies the owner of the car as male/female, thereby posing a potential personal risk and it opens up a means of getting back at that particularly unhelpful member of Calmac staff... It has sufficient detail to allow security guards to cross reference it with a list of legitimate parkers. The ID card of the person sounds good until one realises that this gives extra mileage for ID Theft, and for burgling their homes. I'm thinking that these facts alone are sufficient to cause a rethink. Alan Redhead wrote: Dear all, In light of the incidents at Glasgow airport last weekend, my company has introduced various security measures, one of these being the introduction of a identity card for car parking. For information, the car park used by staff also allowed limited use by members of the public. In an attempt to stop the use of the park by non staff, and to be able to identify each car in the park, an identity card was given to every member of staff to display inside the windscreen of their cars. The card has the name and photograph of that staff member. However, I do not feel comfortable with this method being used, and feel that a card stating simply parking permit should be used. Could list members please back up my feeling? What are all the issues involved here? I need some back up to take to management.
