Thanks Paul. We are running our
test server under VMware as well, contrary to expectation it actually speeded
it up after the initial latency (it is not heavily used). The systems team here
would like to put our production machine into vmware.

Subject: Re: [BLACKBOARD-USERGROUP] Running Blackboard under VMware
Hello
I run a dev version of 7.2 in Virtual Server with the db on the
same box (short of resources) but not a great deal of RAM.
This is used by selected evangelists and champions in the college
with their courses and seems to be holding up fine.
If this runs well I am looking to run parallel with the production
box to compare and contrast with the view of switching the production one to
7.2 next academic year.
I use the snapshot tool to enrol all details so the infrastructure
is the same as the 6.2.3 box with all ennoblements and courses.
Hope this helps?
Best Regards,
Paul Beal

Although it looks from the documentation that Blackboard do
not yet support running within virtualized environments like VMware (unless you
know better) is anyone successfully doing this ?
