Dear all, We hope that the following information about the '1967 & All That' project and blog may be of interest, in particular to colleagues considering using social software for community engagement with archives. Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of the Archives 4 All programme, '1967 & All That' is a joint project of the LSE and Middlesex University. It commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Sexual Offences Act which partially decriminalised male homosexuality in England and Wales, and consists of the development of a touring exhibition as well as a year-long programme of cataloguing, research and outreach work. The '1967 & All That' exhibition uses records from both the Hall-Carpenter Archives of lesbian and gay activism held at LSE, and press cuttings relating to gay life from the Lesbian and Gay Newsmedia Archive at Middlesex University. The mobile exhibition launched at Pride earlier this month, and will tour venues in London throughout the year: the full schedule can be seen at the project website, www.1967andallthat.org.uk. The exhibition has also been made available as a series of blog posts. These include the full text of the exhibition and some images from it. The blog is intended to bring the exhibition to a wider audience and facilitate feedback and discussion with the community. The web address is http://1967andallthat.blogspot.com. We would welcome the thoughts of colleagues on our use of free blogging software to represent the exhibition online in this way. Please feel free to contribute by commenting on the blog itself, or get in touch by return email. An article on the project should also appear in a forthcoming edition of ARC.
