And by the same token incorrect deductions could be made...

I attended the wedding of a Jewish friend and as a mark of respect wore a skull cap which can be seen in some of the photos as so assumption might lead people viewing the photo to assume I'm Jewish when in fact I'm C of E.

Similarly names can also be tricky as they often have religious origins/connotations but it isn't always possible to infer someone's religious beliefs from their name.  My cousin's surname, Hyams, is of Jewish origin yet my uncle is C of E.

I'm a little lost.  I didn't intend to amuse, but certainly not to offend either.  I was simply describing what my picture shows.  Ethnicity and health may be deduced from it, as may, to a limited extent, religion.

I suspect this may be the same discussion as photographs.  Mine shows an apparently healthy non jewish (no cap) white male

We are intending to publish our Building Regulations and Planning
Applications on our web site. By publishing the applicant's name are we
disclosing or suggesting their ethnic origin ? For example, does Ahmed ibn
Mohammed disclose sensitive personal data any more than Joe Bloggs, or
Francois Granjard ?

I hasten to add that these are names I have made up.

We do not intend to identify disabled adaptions.

What have other Authorities done ?

Thanks
