Dear Gavin, I'm not sure if someone else on the list has mentioned this already. In the 2001 Congress in Seoul, ICSID distributed the CD "World Directory of Industrial Design Education". It included 174 institutions, and I counted at least 43 that offered PhDs back then. It's probably not up to date, but it may be worth it comparing it to your current list. It is obviously focused only on Industrial Design education. I can send you a copy if you send details off list.
