His many books include 'Transforming Technology' (2002), 'Heidegger and Marcuse' (2005) and 'Questioning Technology' (1999). The talk will develop his idea of 'democratic rationalisation' in connection with digital networks. It will be of interest to sociologists, philosophers, political economists and anyone with an interest in the social forces shaping contemporary technology. Please circulate widely!
