medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

According to Karl S. Frank, s.v. 'Irenäus. I. I. von Lyon", in the _Lexikon des Mittelalters_, Bd. 5 [1991], col. 644, there are only nine complete Mss. of the _Adversus haereses_. Frank's conclusion: "im MA wurde das Werk prakt. nicht beachtet." Frank ascribes the rediscovery to Erasmus (ed. princeps, Basel, 1525).

John Dillon
