This is squarely with the AHRC - the government is hardly composed of deep thinkers who could be accused of comprehending the issues - and the chief executive of the AHRC hold a Chair of Biblical Criticism (Old Testament presumably, from his stern and unbending stance...) at St Andrews. Perhaps the petition might more usefully be directed at the University of St Andrews?
