medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture Dear Jeffrey, Without any specific quote to judge by, I wonder if the phrase "immersed" in Christendom refers to the baptism of the converts by immersion. I can't think of any other context. Living "within the 'Spiritus Sanctus'" wouldn't necessarily be described as "immersion", except perhaps in the thought and writings of some mystics. In this context, I began to wonder if in addition to being part of the Corpus Christi, did Christians view themselves at the time as living within the 'Spiritus Sanctus'?
