Academic Liaison Librarian (Stock management)
£24,402-£34,793 per annum pro rata (15 hours per week)
Two year fixed term contract Biomedical Sciences Library, Boldrewood Campus
University of Southampton

Working as part of the library team, you will focus particularly on management of the collections, both current teaching and research stock, and older historical material. This is within the context of the integration of the library service to the Highfield Campus in summer 2009. Using appropriate judgement and expertise, you will liaise with a wide group of stakeholders to find optimum solutions to a range of stock management issues. In addition, some enquiry and induction work will keep you in touch directly with our library users.

As well as undertaking specific tasks, you will also support the library manager and the rest of the team in continuing to delivering an excellent service in a time of challenge and change. A high level of interpersonal skills and a flexible and reflective attitude are therefore essential for this post. You should be at graduate level, with a professional library/information qualification, and preferably, a background in information work. You will also need to be computer literate.
