LLPG DATA CLEAN UP OFFICER - East Midlands - 37 hours per week - 1 month 
contract initially, with potential for 6-9 month contract - Hourly rate 
£10 - 15 


Aim: To assist in the reconciling of the Revenues Academy address databases 
to the Land and Property Gazetteer database


Job Purpose:

To ensure address data held within the Academy Revenues, Benefits and Non 
Domestic Rates databases is accurately and correctly aligned with address 
data held within the Local Land and Property Gazetteer. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1.	To check for, and investigate all address mismatches that the 
address matching software has highlighted between the Revenues Academy 
database and the Land and Property Gazetteer.

2.	To assess, judge and accurately match together all mismatches as 
appropriate, in the address matching data sheet.

3.	To make informed and above all, accurate decisions when matching 
two address entries together. 

4.	To investigate discrepancies where properties cannot be identified 
by various methods through the use of internal databases.  To liaise with 
relevant officers within specified Divisions within the Council.

5.	To produce, record and track unresolved discrepancies escalated to 
the Revenues Inspector, the Local Land and Property Gazetteer Officer and 
the Building Control Officer.

6.	To record resolved discrepancies as required.

7.	To keep an accurate measure of time taken to resolve different 
types of mismatches for the purpose of forecasting the data cleanup 
timescales.

8.	To make external site visits, if or when required, in order to 
identify and match properties. 


Essential
	
•	An understanding of address structure, or the disposition to be 
able disassemble complex address structures	

•	Working knowledge of  LLPG	

•	Understanding of BS7666	Knowledge of Council Tax and Non Domestic 
Rates	

•	Knowledge of MS Excel spreadsheets and MS Word	

•	Attention to data detail	

•	An understanding of network filing structure and file naming 
convention	

•	A flexible working approach involving an ability to both follow 
working procedures, and to resolve issues through resourceful investigation
	


Desirable

•	Knowledge of Capita Academy Revenues and Benefits system

•	Knowledge of Infoshare Streetwise Gazetteer

•	Previous experience of data cleansing in a LLPG environment.

This is NOT a heavy GIS role although an appreciation of spatial or address 
data would prove an advantage.
