I for one hope that this "dynamic programme" of artistic enthusiasm,
with its "lively mixture of interdisciplinary practices", is going to
find time during the coffee break to redesign the logo.

	OLYMPIC ARTISTS SYMPOSIUM

	Saturday 23 June 2007

	9.30am - 4pm

SPACE and the Museum of London are hosting this symposium to
coincide with World Olympic Day.

The symposium consists of a dynamic programme of creative and
artistic presentations from leading practitioners across a wide range of
disciplines; all engaged with aspects of the 2012 Olympics and the area
that comprises the Olympic site. The day includes key presentations from
Mike Seaborne, Curator of photographs at the Museum of London, Tim
Edensor, Senior Lecturer in Human Geography, Manchester Metropolitan
University, and photographer Stephen Gill.

Participants presenting projects include: Gabrielle Allen,
Melissa Bliss, Caroline Christie and Bobby Lloyd, Phil Cohen, Alberto
Duman, Brian Griffin, Hilary Powell, Toby Smith and Gesche Wuerful.

In bringing together this lively mixture of interdisciplinary
practices the day seeks to engage questions such as: How are artists
engaging with the Olympics? What work are they making and how is the
changing political and cultural landscape affecting the content and
context of their practices? We hope the day will lead to the further
development of each individual's practice as well as bringing it to a
new and informed audience.
