Ruth Kamen Awarded MBE

Ruth Kamen, FCILIP, Hon FRIBA, FRSA, former Director and Sir Banister Fletcher Librarian, British Architectural Library, Royal Institute of British Architects, has been made an MBE for services to Architecture in Her Majesty the Queen's Birthday honours. The Honour was given for services to Architecture.

"I'm delighted. And surprised," said Ruth on the day of the announcement, the Queen's Official Birthday. "I think, as my successor Dr Irena Murray said today, this Honour recognises the importance of the Architectural Library in progressing the work of British Architecture and its role in Society."

Ruth is an honorary member and former Chair of ARLIS and also winner of the ARLIS Christmas card competition for the past two years.
