WEST GLAMORGAN ARCHIVE SERVICE
Salary: £13,854-£14,523 PER ANNUM
The West Glamorgan Archive Service is a joint service for the City and County of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. The Archive Service is responsible for locating, preserving and making accessible documents relating to all aspects of the history of West Glamorgan.
The Archive Service is looking for an enthusiastic person to join its team at County Hall Swansea for a one-year fixed term contract. Applications are invited from graduates intending to apply for a postgraduate archive training course in 2008 and who want to gain experience of all aspects of archive work. You will assist in sorting, cleaning, listing and indexing archives, and provide assistance to the public in our search room in Swansea, and our Archives Access Points in Neath and Port Talbot.
As well as a degree, you will possess good ICT, communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing quality public services. You will be highly motivated to pursue a career in archives, and be capable of working well with the public. The post is tenable until the end of August 2008 and will become vacant in September 2007.
