Cunning Folk in Wales - Cardiff University Evening Course offered

"Witchcraft and Popular Beliefs in Early Modern Wales"

Wales did not experience ‘witch hunts’, yet witches were considered a threat to Welsh people, as were fairies and wizards. This course will examine these supernatural beliefs in order to understand how such conceptions had survived in a Christianised society. It will also examine why Wales escaped the continental ‘witch-crazes’."

10 weekly meetings on Wednesdays from 7.00 to 9.00 pm starting 5 October 2005 in the Cardiff Centre for Lifelong Learning, Senghennydd Road, Cardiff. The link below is the full syllabus and registration.
