‘Safe delivery’ conference on reducing risk in maternity services |
Posted on 23 Apr 2007 Recent investigations show that there is still much to be done to improve safety for women using maternity services in England. The National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) and the Healthcare Commission are hosting a free conference on 26 June 2007 in Central London. The conference will look at how to reduce risk in maternity services and will bring together policy makers and health professionals. In particular it will examine the challenge of how to ensure safe, confident and effective maternity care in a time of immense change and financial pressure on maternity units. There will be speeches from leaders of the Healthcare Commission, NPSA, Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), Royal College of Midwives (RCM), National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU), National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the Department of Health. There will also be the opportunity to hear directly from health professionals on new ways of improving the quality of maternity care. We would like representatives from as many healthcare organisations as possible to attend. To register your interest please contact the Healthcare Commission on 0845 601 3012 or at [log in to unmask]. Please note that places are limited. |
Regards,
Wendy Zhou
