The AHRC has awarded the University of Stirling a major research grant to study the life and career in cinema of Lindsay Anderson. The University, which holds the director’s personal and working papers, wishes to appoint a Research Assistant to join the project team. The successful candidate will catalogue Anderson’s extensive correspondence to item-level and provide support to the project team. Practical experience of working with archives is essential and knowledge of the history of British cinema is desirable.
 
This is a full-time, three-year position which will commence on 1st September 2007 or as soon as possible thereafter.  The salary will be within the range £21,050 - £23,692p.a.

AHRC funded PhD

Applications are invited from well-qualified candidates for a full-time AHRC funded studentship to contribute to the Department’s project ‘The Cinema Authorship of Lindsay Anderson’ commencing September 2007. The successful candidate will examine Anderson’s connections with European filmmakers and will have a degree in Film Studies or a related subject, have studied at postgraduate level and must be fluent in French.
