Dear All

I am looking at our provision of abridged audio books and would be pleased to hear from colleagues about how you manage your collections.  We currently have small collections of abridged cassettes in all our branches, which are well used but getting rather old, so need some work to improve the offer.   I'm particularly interested in answers to the following questions, but please tell me anything else you think is relevant:

• If you have abridged audio books, are they kept as a separate collection, integrated with unabridged, or integrated with bookstock?
• What format are they?
• Do you have any information about who borrows them  - mainly VIPs or other readers?
• Do you charge, and if so, how much?
• Which suppliers do you use?
• We have a few long abridged books - 7-8 hours rather than 3-4 - has anyone else bought any of these, and have you found a market for them?
