Dear Colleagues

The Midlands and Anglia Local Studies Group are to hold their Annual Day 
School and AGM on Wednesday 19th September 2007 at the Cecil Roberts Room, 
Nottingham Central Library, Angel Row, Nottingham.

The theme of the day is Using Your Initiative:  connecting Local Studies 
with the Regional and National Agenda.   The Day School begins with 
registation and coffee at 9.30, includes a buffet lunch and finishes at 4 
pm.

The varied and interesting programme includes Family History and the
Media: behind the scenes of "Who do you think you are?" with historian 
Nick Barratt; The Front Page - engaging different audiences with Ruth 
Riding, Audience Development Officer of North Yorkshire Archives; and 
Living Literacy: using local studies to develop Key Stage 3 literacy 
skills with Cathy Petersen of Derbyshire Libraries.
