The National Preservation Office announces a new training day, Caring
for Bookbindings, to be held in the British Lihbrary Centre for
Conservation on 10 July. This training day will help librarians and
archivists to understand the types of bindings in their collections, and
give guidance on handling and describing bindings, and on appropriate
conservation techniques. There will be an opportunity to visit the new
book conservation studio in the British Library Conservation Centre,
opened in May this year.

The course will be of benefit to librarians, archivists and all those
responsible for book collections. For the full programme and booking
form see

www.bl.uk/services/npo/bookbindings07.html . Places are limited to a
maximum of 20 attendees.
