Final invitation to you to register for the meeting below. Please register must by 11a.m. Thursday 10th May

Reaping the Rewards: access to E-thesis & Research papers. Digital Rights from a Publisher & a University perspective.
A CILIP UC&RG East Midlands Event about Digital Repositories.

The advantages of swift and efficient electronic access to the research papers, dissertations and thesis of organisations are now widely
recognised across the Higher Education Sector. This event will aim to answer the following questions: What are the advantages to your organisation?
How can digital repositories ease the submission of thesis and research papers?
What are the implications for the dissemination of research? How can Digital Repositories benefit all levels of students?
What are the legal issues that effect these developments? How are journal publishers handling rights issues and what are the implications for libraries?

To help you answer these questions and many others about the subject, you are invited to attend an afternoon briefing about these issues.
There will be an opportunity to hear about a pair of current projects one JISC funded and the other, an Institutional one.
In addition there will be a discussion of the legal issues involved from a specialist practitioner and from the Rights Manager of a leading publisher.
To help "fuel" the discussion there will be a buffet lunch provided at the beginning and tea an cakes later in the afternoon.
CILIP UCR&G East Midlands are keen to capture your enthusiasm and interest for new topics to be presented and discussed regionally, so if you have any suggestions or ideas for meetings please do contact us or if you are able to attend the AGM earlier on the 17th May you are welcome to join us.
