Concert: DEL PLATA'S TANGO

Latin American Quintet revisits Piazzolla on the 15th anniversary of his death

29 June, 7:30pm

DelPlata is an ensemble of classically trained musicians originally brought together in October 2005 by their shared passion: the music of Astor Piazzolla.

The great Argentinian musician combined elements of classical, jazz and traditional music in his compositions, leading to a revolutionary style: el 'Tango Nuevo'.

Inspired by this, DelPlata also spans genres. Their eclectic repertoire ranges from 1920 to 2005, although Piazzolla's masterpieces remain at the heart of their performances. DelPlata's motivation is to share and unveil this exciting music to European audiences, in the belief that it can provide a means of bringing people of varying cultural backgrounds and interest together.
