FACULTY POSITION IN EARTH SCIENCE

The Department of Marine, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences at North Carolina State University is seeking to fill a tenure-track, assistant professor faculty position in Earth Science with an emphasis in lithospheric dynamics and Earth surface interactions.  Examples of interests include, but are not restricted to, geomorphology, geodynamics, geohazards, neotectonics, and paleoclimate, utilizing applications such as cosmogenic isotopes, GPS geodesy, and InSAR.  Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in either Earth science or a closely related field.  The successful candidate will demonstrate high potential for establishing a vigorous research program and for excelling at teaching that contributes to both undergraduate and graduate Earth Science curricula.

Review of applications will begin September 10th, 2007; the position is available July 1, 2008, and will remain open until filled.  Only hard (paper) copies of applications will be considered.  A cover letter, curriculum vita, and the names, addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers of three references should be sent to Dr. James Hibbard, Chair, Search Committee, Department of Marine, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences, Box 8208, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC 27695-8208.
