Job Description
The British Aviation Preservation Council (BAPC) is seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Learning Officer to lead an MLA funded project working across four BAPC member museums. 
 
BAPC was formed in 1967 and is the national body for the preservation of aviation related items in the United Kingdom.  It is a voluntary body which undertakes a representation, co-ordination and enabling role.  BAPC members include national, local authority, independent and service museums, private collections, voluntary groups and other organisations involved in the advancement of aviation preservation in Britain.
 
You will be responsible for working with BAPC members in the development, delivery and evaluation of learning programmes and resources for primary education users across a number of National Curriculum areas.  Experience in using Inspiring Learning for All is desirable as is experience of developing educational displays and/or study packs and budget management.  Experience of working with the aviation and/or voluntary sectors would be an advantage.
 
Required Skills / Qualifications
To succeed in this role candidates must possess a formal teaching qualification, i.e. PGCE, B’Ed or Certificate of Education, ideally with at least three years’ teaching experience, preferably including experience within the primary school sector. You will possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, together with expertise in history, science or technology, preferably with experience of the citizenship curriculum and have a good working knowledge of MS office/relevant ICT computer skills. A good working knowledge of the National Curriculum is also essential.
