At MLA London we are increasingly receiving emails from students – from the UK and abroad - inquiring about the possibility of internships/work experience in museums or heritage related organisations in the UK. We ourselves do not take internships and do not have the capacity to help facilitate an internship scheme but I do think it would be a shame if the organisations that are prepared to accept people – or give them a few weeks work placement/experience – are not receiving information from these people that are so keen to work in the museum sector.  I was thinking of setting up an email distribution list so that if I receive inquiries into museum internships/work experience/work placements I could then forward them on to people who may be able to help.

If you or your organisation thinks it may be able to help and would like to on this please email me, off-list, with your email address.  I will then make up a distribution list.

Regards

Paddy
