Jorum User and Contributor Events 2007 - http://www.jorum.ac.uk/news/tour.html -------------------------------------- The Jorum Team are pleased to announce 3 Summer Events, covering both Jorum User and Jorum Contributor: Wednesday 13th June 2007 Edinburgh (University of Edinburgh) 10am - 3pm Monday 25th June 2007 Manchester (University of Manchester) 10am - 3pm Wednesday June 27th 2007 London (University of London, Birkbeck College) 10am - 3pm The intention is to provide hands on training and practical advice. Registration for the events is free, although spaces are limited (according to the venue) and will be awarded on a first come first serve basis. The events are aimed at staff from further and higher education institutions. The basic agenda: 10am Registration * Introduction to the Jorum Service, including a basic overview of Jorum User and Jorum Contributor * Searching Jorum - simple and advanced search, browsing, RSS 11.45am Break * Using learning objects - downloading and repurposing using tools such as RELOAD 1pm Lunch * Considerations prior to contributing - e.g. copyright clearance, technical issues * Understanding workflows and the workarea * Adding a learning object - uploading, groups/collections, moving/deleting objects * Describing a learning object - editing metadata and classifying an object * Discussion, feedback 3pm Close For more information on the events (including a full agenda, venue information and booking form) please go to: http://www.jorum.ac.uk/news/tour.html Michael Dodds Jorum Communications Officer
