Hi Andy.

I know that in our institution, we have recently set up the Inclusive Fitness Initiative, IFI.  This has meant that all of our gym facilities are now inclusive to all students and staff, and I believe (don’t quote me on it) that our other sports facilities have been adapted too, to be inclusive.

I think that our sports department have received funding to do this, as I believe that the IFI is a national scheme.

Hope this helps!

Hi All,

Forgive me if this query is a bit off-base, but I am conducting a bit of research into the availability of disability sport in HE for both students, staff and the local community, and I would be interested to learn about how your institutions facilitate this, any policy HEI's have and examples of good practice.  Has the duty prompted your uni to adapt its sports provision or has it remained the same.

If anyone has any information or experiences they are willing to share, positive or negative, it would be really helpful.

Thanks

Andy Mitchell
