That would be one situation where time is important. I remember many years
ago seeing a medical examination whereby students could request a test to be
carried out, this was obviously in virtual time but after a certain time
students were not given the test results but told that the patient had now
died.

My comments were general, if there is a good valid reason for a time
constraint then fine, but generally it is the status quo accepted
unquestioningly.
