News item in todays Times. South Korea, 30-mile long sea wall being built  to 
enclose a large delta/mudflats halfway along their west coast, ecologists  
furious because the delta is (was) important feeding ground for migratory  birds.
 
Nice images available on Google Earth if you have it, just like a bird's  eye 
view - no irony intended of course.
