Reminder for the following training event being organised by the Northern Region of the Society of Archivists. Bookings will be taken for the next two weeks. 


  'Learning from the past': Using Archives in an Educational Setting with Children and Young People
June 4th, 11am - 4.20pm
A one day training course held at the East Riding of Yorkshire Archives 
and Local Studies, Beverley

This training event is intended to give archivists who are interested in 
working with children, the opportunity to gain practical experience and 
insights into educational projects and classroom techniques.  There will 
be speakers from a variety of local educational projects talking about 
their experiences of working with children and young people - what worked, what didn't and what they would do differently next time.  Experts from 
the Archives for Education and Learning Group will lead practical 
workshops on running classroom sessions and outreach activities. 

Programme:

                   From exclusion to inclusion: bringing archives into the classroom

15.30-16.00    Helen Roberts, Hull University Archives
                        'Perspectives on Citizenship'. A Hull University project with young people

This event will be preceded by a meeting of the Northern Region of the 
Society of Archivists from 10.00 am. All members from other regions are 
welcome to attend. If you are planning to attend, please inform me on

look round the Treasure House, the new purpose built home of the East 
Riding Archives.
