Dear Colleagues,
I regret to report that Peter Shaw, who was Conservator for Grimsby Borough, and then for Humberside County Council, from 1954 to 1987, died last Wednesday, 23rd May, in Grimsby. Peter had been unwell for several weeks, although his death was unexpected. He will be remembered by many in the archives world, particularly in the East Midlands and Northern Regions of the Society of Archivists. Peter was a loyal friend, skilful conservator, and gifted calligrapher.

There will be a private cremation, followed at 4.15pm on Friday, 1st June, by a service at the Methodist Church, Scartho Road, Scartho, Grimsby, to which all are invited.
