*** With apologies for cross posting *** Higher Education Academy Annual Conference - Booking open Bookings are now open for the Higher Education Academy's 2007 Annual Conference, which is taking place from 3-5 July in Harrogate. The overarching theme of the conference is 'Engaging students in higher education', with three sub-themes of 'Higher Education Policy', 'Scholarship of teaching and learning in the disciplines' and 'Innovations to support the student learning experience'. The themes will be explored through over 100 parallel papers, discussions and workshops. Keynote presentations will be given by: * James Alexander, President of NUS Scotland * Professor Janet Beer, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Law and Social Science at Manchester Metropolitan University * Professor Paul Ramsden, Chief Executive Officer of the Higher Education Academy The centrepiece of the conference will be a debate, chaired by leading broadcast journalist Mike Baker, on the motion that 'Excellence has become a devalued term in higher education'.
